I don't believe this to be a typo ("s" and "c" too far apart on the keyboard) so it has to be deliberate and therefore plainly wrong. To site is to place something somewhere (or indeed a site is a noun meaning a place or location) whereas to cite is to quote something.
Neither to be confused with sight... 😀
